Adjacent to the castle site is a popular toy museum. Hatfield Forest National Nature Reserve (7.2 km / 4.5 miles) - with over 1000 acres of woodland and pasture, this site is of particular historical and ecological importance. 400 year old trees, 2 ornamental lakes and an 18th century Shell House also feature. Mole Hall Wildlife Park (10.5 km / 6.5 miles) - featuring a variety of exotic animals, this 20 acre site features many attractions to entertain young and old. Follow this road for approximately 1.5 km (one mile). - You will find the hotel situated on the right hand side at the top of the hill. By Rail: From Stansted Mountfitchet Station (600 metres): - Exit the station onto Station Road. - Turn left onto Chapel Hill. - Take the 2nd left onto Woodfields. - Follow the road through to Millside and follow this round until you reach Silver Street. - Turn left and the hotel will be approximately 200 metres on your left.
