MEININGER City Hostel & Hotel London description: The MEININGER City Hostel & Hotel Queens Gate offers economical accommodation with considerable comfort. The hostel is directly across from the Natural History Museum in the Baden Powell House, just a few stops away from Hyde Park and Royal Albert Hall. The direct connection to the Circle and Piccadilly Lines, as well as the numerous bus lines allow our guests easy and quick access to the main historical, cultural and architectural sights in London.
The Baden-Powell House was named after the founder of the worldwide Boy Scouts. It was inaugurated in 1961 by Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth II. It still houses a permanent exhibition about the Scout Association today.
Centrally located in South Kensington, vis-à-vis with the Natural History Meseum and in the direct vicinity of Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and Notting Hill; our 4-star hostel is the ideal starting point for visiting this cosmopolitan city.
You can enjoy the all you can eat breakfast buffet, with the best views of the lively metropolis on the Thames.
The hostel is located in the Scout Association’s Baden-Powell House and was inaugurated by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Area informationThe direct connection to the Circle and Piccadilly Lines and numerous bus lines makes reaching London’s historical, cultural and architectural attractions easy and comfortable. Within a kilometre of the hotel you will find Hyde Park, the National History Museum, Royal Albert Hall and Harrods department store.

Room informationThe building has over 47 single, double and shared rooms over six floors. All rooms have an adjustable air conditioner and TV, as well as a shower and WC. Single and double rooms have a telephone. Having elevator access on all floors and a ramp at the entrance has helped us achieve a Mobility Level 1 rating (Visit Britain National Accessibility Scheme). A special highlight: our breakfast room and rooftop terrace offer a wonderful view of the pulsing metropolis. The terrace can be used for barbeques, upon request.
Food and beverageBreakfast is served from 07:00 until 10:00.
Dinner is served from 18:00 until 20:00.

Travel directionsBy Underground:
- The best way to reach the hostel is via the Underground stations of South Kensington and Gloucester Road using the District, Circle or Piccadilly lines.
- Get off at Gloucester Road and take the Cromwell Road exit.
- From there, follow the signs to the Baden-Powell House.
- After about 150 metres you will find the hostel on the left corner of Cromwell Road and Queensgate.
